Objectification 3D Design

In the documentary Objectified by Gary Hustwits, A designer from Tokyo, Naoto Fukasawa, spoke about how, "by simply writing and only about what is there, the audience is drawn into the poet's wold. Their imagination is stimulated, and a silent connection is established," and that, "design needs to be plugged to natural human behaviour." I interpreted this statement to how simplicity speaks in volumes and what pulls you in to a design may not be how colourful or fancy it looks, but by how familiar and easy it seems. Like Fukasawa, I too believe that good and meaningful designs don't have to be extravagant and dynamic, the beauty lies in the simple things. That is why I was inspired to build a simple modern bookshelf with a CD player and Speaker clock that was shown in the store called Muji; who are known more for their simplistic designs. Overall, the minimalist movement has been growing popular the past few years, showing how people are more practical and that they are going for the quality over quantity approach.
